Thatcher, woman of the year. Would you believe that?

(Oh how I will dread even replying to this) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Tom, If you take a close look at Charlottes reply, She even put in parenthesis what she was censoring. It is so very typically British of you to only see what you want to see and try and emphasize on what might try and make people think is important. She censored your remark about Thatcher! She was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that you might have a clue about this being an Irish Republican website. I have learned from experience that TRYING to rationalize with a 'Brit' only ends up in frustration.
As far as myself and my penis, We are both healthy, LARGE, and happy. I would have to guess that you and your "small penis/large ego" will have to dress up like Ol Maggie and try and boss people around for kicks.

As far as editing your own reply, It doesnt change the fact that you are trying to spew your British BS on an Irish Republican website.

I've got a big question for ya, lads. Is she even human? How can a walking corpse be a woman of the year?

Actually she used strikethrough rather than parenthesis. A small point but exactitude can be important.

Patrick your continued fixation with penises is indeed remarkable- are you sure that you're on the correct website? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
TBH this seems a tactic to avoid rational debate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

To the substantial point- your charge of

Which particular post of mine in this thread contains bullshit please?

A touch unkind perhaps- those of us who have seen loved ones in the final stages of Alzheimers will know what you mean.
It did seem a strange nomination, God alone knows why it was made now- a bit like Holywood giving an ageing actor a lifetime's achievement award.

It's a sad attempt to avoid dealing with serious issues of American imperialism in South America.

This is quite a funny one: A Brit lecturing an American about imperialism... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
Difference between the two here is the latter doesn't agree with his country's policy and the former does...

Wrong on both counts- I admit my country's errors of the past, Christ knows there were many, ( a bit like the belgian congo ), fortunately my country got rid of it's empire. America is expanding its Imperium. I have yet to see Patrick condemn the slaughter of the Native Americans, Indeed he chided me for using that phrase.
Nor have I seen him stand up against Yankee policy of support for the Zionists. Nor condemn Yankee intervention in Chile, Brazil, Nicaragua......................

"my country got rid of it's empire" Shouldn't the phrase "The oppressed peoples got rid of my country's (military) presence and meddling?" be more appropriate, you think?
"I have yet to see Patrick condemn the slaughter of the Native Americans, Indeed he chided me for using that phrase." I don't know anything about that, but I would regard it natural to condemn ALL forms of imperialism/colonization...
"Nor have I seen him stand up against Yankee policy of support for the Zionists. Nor condemn Yankee intervention in Chile, Brazil, Nicaragua......................"
You can't sincerely demand of him he stands up for everything his country has done and does wrong? By the way, this forum tends to deal about one particular country's situation. I don't think we're supposed do discuss the whole imperialist history of the world's countries? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
Example: Did I ever condemn Belgium/Leopold II for the past in Congo in here? No. Why should I, it isn't the place for it. But of course I do condemn it, that's natural.

Aye the choice of language- in some cases, Kenya, India etc you're quite correct, In others like Australia, Canada, New Zealand that language would be incorrect.

My point about imperialism is that, like you I acknowledge that it has brought much harm and some small good.

My view of the world situation is that the oppression of peoples and denial of democracy is wrong, whether in Ireland, Nicaragua, or Palestine. The view that the political struggle in Ireland is as one with the struggle against oppressors elsewhere is a strong one here in Scotland. It chimes with the views of Sinn Fein too.
Those on this site who have seen Glasgow Celtic play will agree that as well and Irish tricolours, fans also bring Palestinian and Basque flags to games.
