Ok, so, both sides of my family's grandparents came to america from ireland in the early 20th century. O'Boyd, and Swaney.

was just looking for some info on where these names might be from? what they mean? etc. i've tried geneology websites, but as the O'Boyd side of my family changed their name to Ballard (for work etc.) its harder than i thought.

i've been to alot of web pages, curious, as i'm 23 as of april 7th, 2010, and pops has been dead for 15 years (as of a week before that) mum won't talk of it, and my grandparents are dead.
