Inishfree
Inishfree

I left the shore of Inishfree For the lights of the city streets Looking for fame and fortune And standing on my own two feet, The friends I found were always around For the money I was handing out Now the money 's gone and they're not here So this is what city life's about. Take me back to Inishfree Where the people are real and the living is free. The cliffs and the mountains sweeping down to the sea Are better than any city I've ever seen. I'm playing my fiddle in a doorway People passing by Frost on the ground and my fingers are cold And I'm just wondering why. Standing here just thinking about The people I left at home I'm packing my bags in the morning And no more will I roam. This page has been viewed 1666 times |
