Sad to see the site close down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Don't have the money to buy it myself *poor student*.

Just a point of interest though: the ads aren't actually included in the deal, right, you need to apply for a new account yourself?

Banshee, thanks for sending me that intro. It's really nice.

I play it without the Capo, and then make a transition during the song to A-tuning, ergo: the one posted here with the Capo on the 2nd fret.

I can post the chords here if anyone is interested, but I'm still working on the bridge.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Despite trying to find out (literally, since I couldn't find any on the net at all) chords for Scorn not his simplicity (Phil Coulter), preferrably the Luke Kelly version, I haven't yet succeeded in finding a set that worked. It doesn't have to match Kelly, but it should work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . Here's what I tried and got out best:

Intro:
A

A
See the Child with the golden hair
E
yet eyes that show the emptyness inside.
E A
Do we know, can we understand just how he feels
A
or have we really tried.

(repeat as above for second part of verse)

D
Scorn not his simplicity
A
but rather try to love him all the more.
E
Scorn not his simplicity
A
Oh no
E
Oh no
A
(last chorus:) Oh no

Can anybody give me any hints suggestions on how to improve this, or has anyone got a totally new chord scheme? The chords are picked and varied between A-A4, D-D4 and E-E6, after the Luke Kelly version, though I guess it wouldn't totally correspond with that.

Evil request, there. Tabs for the violin isn't that easy.. by what I know of it, they use sheet music since the tone settings on a violin are not indicated on the instrument itself and it's up to the musician to correct himself as he plays (with the due risk of beginners like myself playing off-key all the time), there wouldn't be an easy way to configure tabs I think.

However, the Dubliners d have songbooks. Now, I realize that these are never in the setting you want them to be, but with a little musical knowledge, transposing songs should be doable.

I'm going to learn this one, since my version (in Am) is way too high.

The intro I know is actually the last part of the chorus on violin, so I tend to play those chords creatively
as an intro.

I'd love to see the intro of course, perhaps i'd take it on as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hidididdlyho!

I'm Lyrthion... I ran into this site while I was looking into lyrics. Took the liberty of registering and then trailed off as the registration mail took too long for me to wait for it, which means more than a minute or so. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Well.. about myself: I'm a student, studying International Business (and Languages).. at the moment in Germany, but originally from Amsterdam. I'm also a musician, playing (surprise!) Irish Folk and Folk music for my main repertoire. I'm a poet and a writer, which in combination with being a musician has made me a songwriter as well.

What to tell... well, why don't we make it easy on me. You ask, I answer.. saves me the bother of putting down everything you don't want to know and you the bother of reading it.
