Charlotte Im the same, Im Scottish but I love everything about Ireland, the people, the scenery, the passion, the music. Me and my pal are saving up 10 grand and moving to Dublin in a year or two.

Ireland is a country that have never given into the British rule like Scotland once did. I admire that. I hate being called a brit and take offence to it.. Ireland is the way forward.

Go on home British soldiers, go on home.
Have you got no fuckin' homes of your own ?
For eight hundred years we've fought you without fear
And we will fight you for eight hundred more.

If you stay British soldiers, if you stay
You will never ever beat the IRA
The fourteen men in Derry are the last that you will bury
So take a tip and leave us while you may.

No, we're not British, we're not Saxon, we're not English
We're Irish! and proud we are to be.
So fuck your union jack we want our country back
We want to see old Ireland free once more.

Well we're fighting British soldiers for the cause
We'll never bow to soldiers because
Throughout our history we were born to be free
So get out British soldiers, leave us be.

Im a Celtic fan and I don't see the problem with singing the songs of freedom. Who's it hurting?.. People just like to complain too much..

Whilst on my way to the Celtic game today on the motorway we had the satisfaction of passing three army trucks. Windows open and Go on home British Soldiers blaring. This was so funny, such a coincidence doesn't happen often...

First of all mate...What I meant is that it brought a tear to my eye...forgive me but It would be the same anywhere in the world including England. I don't agree with the killings of innocents anywhere and believe you me if it was England instead of Spain id feel the same way. I ain't a monster mate...

As for your other posts I think ill just ignore them as you obviously lack a few braincells...

I don't know about anyone else here but i speak for myself and when you say racist against the British, Do you mean British Gov or British people. Many of my friends past and present have came from England or Scots who call themselves Brits. Im not a bitter man and hold nothing against them, they are good people and don't know enough about the Ireland situation to comment. Like I said but most of the people here seem to be against the British rule and want Ireland to be one like myself. But then again Im not from Ireland - Im from Scotland and its a much more peaceful country in terms of fighting from what Ireland is...

Whitepower is a totally different thing altogether...Something that shouldn't be mentioned on this fine site...

This is it.

Let The people sing/Take it down from the mast/This land is my land

For those who are in love
There's a song that's warm and tender.
For those who are oppressed
In song you can protest.
So liberate your minds
And give your soul expression.
And open up your hearts,
And I'll sing for you this song.

Let the people sing their stories and their songs
And the music of their native land
Their lullabies and battlecries and songs of hope and joy
So join us hand in hand
All across this ancient land
Throughout the test of time
It was music that kept their spirits free
Those songs of yours and of mine

Take it down from the mast, Irish traitors,
It's the flag we republicans claim,
It can never belong to free staters,
For you've brought on it nothing but shame.

Why not leave it to those who are willing,
To uphold it in war and in peace,
To the men who intend to do killing,
Until England's tyrannies cease.

Chorus

You have murdered our brave Liam and Rory,
You've slaughtered young Richard and Joe,
Your hands with their blood is still gory,
Fulfilling the work of the foe.

Chorus

Well it was back in ancient times,
When the bard would tell us stories.
Of heroes, of villains, of chieftains in the glen.
Of Elizebethan times,
Through Cromwellian wars and fury.
Put the pipers to the sword,
Killed the harp players and the bard.

Let the people sing their stories and their songs
And the music of their native land
Their lullabies and battlecries and songs of hope and joy
So join us hand in hand
All across this ancient land
Throughout the test of time
It was music that kept their spirits free
Those songs of yours and of mine

This Land is your land
This land is my land
From the northern highlands
To the western islands
From the hills of Kerry
To the streets of Free Derry
This land was made for you and me.

As I went walkin,
In shallow waters.
Hand in hand with,
my little daughters
With the churcbell ringin'
And the children singin'
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

I climbed the mountain,
Saw the crystal fountain.
And I heard a great roar,
From the rocky sea shore.
Her eyes were gleamin'
She cried "Oh daddy"
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

I walked her home by
The old church steeple.
Proud of my country,
Proud of my people.
For the men who cried there,
And the men who died there singin'
This land was made for you and me.

Well Ireland, land of song,
Your music lives forever
In its valleys, in its mountains,
In its hills and in its glens.
Our music did survive
Through famine and oppression.
To the generations gone,
I'll sing for you this song.

Hi ...

I was searching Shebeen and in my winamp folder was a tune Dan Ar Braz - Left in Peace, Bit of a cheesy song but i quite liked it.. Doesn't sound like a rebel song but i wasn't sure as the words are hard to understand. What is it anyone know?. Sound a bit like the Corrs.
