hi, i was wondering does anyone have an idea of the chords for this cracker wee song, any help is greatly appricated. thanks No Time For Love Jack Warshaw You call it the law, we call it apartheid, internment, conscription, partition and silence. It's the law that they make to keep you and me where they think we belong. The hide behind steel and bullet-proof glass, machine guns and spies, And tell us who suffer the tear gas and the torture that we're in the wrong. No time for love if they come in the morning, No time to show tears or for fears in the morning, No time for goodbye, no time to ask why, And the sound of the siren's the cry of the morning. They suffered the torture they rotted in cells, went crazy, wrote letters and died. The limits of pain they endured - the loneliness got them instead. And the courts gave them justice as justice is given by well-mannered thugs. Sometimes they fought for the will to survive but more times they just wished they were dead They took away Sacco, Vanzetti, Connolly and Pearce in their time. They came for Newton and Seal, Bobby Sands and some of his friends. In Boston, Chicago, Saigon, Santiago, Warsaw and Belfast, And places that never make headlines, the list never ends. The boys in blue are only a few of the everyday cops on the beat, The C.I.D., Branchmen, informers and spies do their jobs just as well; Behind them the men who tap phones, take photos, program computers and files, And the man who tells them when to come and take you to your cell. All of you people who give to your sisters and brothers the will to fight on, They say you can get used to a war, that doesn't mean that the war isn't on. The fish need the sea to survive, just like your people need you. And the death squad can only get through to them if first they can get through to you. thanks Achara, I got this from the Erin Go Bragh rebel chords site and, for the most part, it's what I use. I will play a G then a G7 then a C and a C7 (I think...no classical training here!)...but it seems to spice it up and it works for me. Give it a try and I wish you all the best with it. By the way, as I'm sure you know, Gary Og's tour right now (at least down in Australia) is called the No Time For Love tour and Gary does a version of this song that's 100% magic! I like the sound of this... Fields of Athenry Christy Moore By the l[G]onely prison wall. I h[C]eard a young girl c[G]all[D7]ing. M[G]ichael, they are t[C]aking you a[D7]way, for you [G]stole Trevelyn's c[C]orn. So the y[G]oung might see the [D7]morn. [D7]Now a prisonship lies waiting in the [G]bay. Chorus: [G]Low l[C]ie, the F[G]ields of A[Em]thenry, where [G]once we watched the small free birds [D7]fly. Our [G]love was on the w[C]ing, we had d[G]reams and songs to s[D7]ing. It's so [D7]lonely 'round the fields of Athen[G]ry. By a lonely prison wallI heard a young man calling.Nothing matters Mary when you're free, Against the Famine and the CrownI rebelled, they ran me down. Now you must raise our child with dignity. Chorus! By a lonely harbour wallShe watched the last star falling. And that prison ship sailed out against the sky.Sure she'll wait and hope and pray, for her love in Botany Bay.It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry |

Hello everyone, have been trying to learn this song but i think i have the wrong chords, so im just wondering does anyone have the chords for it? Here are the lyrics... Doesnt seem quite so long ago, The last time that I saw you, Ain't it funny how the memories grow, They always fold around you, They tried to break you in a living hell, But they couldn't find a way, So they killed you in a H. block cell, And hoped that all would turn away, Thought that your spirit couldn't rise again But it dared to prove them wrong, And in death you tore away the chains, And let the world hear freedom's song, (chorus) Yet the heartache and pain linger on, They're still here though its so long since you've gone, But we're stronger now you showed us how, Freedom's fight can be won I wish there was an easy road to choose, To bring the heartache to an end, But easy roads are always sure to lose, I've seen that time and time again, If you can stand by me like yesterday, I'll find the strength to carry on, So let your spirit shine along the way, And our day will surely come, (chorus) Yet the heartache and pain linger on, They're still here though its so long since you've gone, But we're stronger now, you showed us how, Freedom's fight can be won, if we all stand as one. Achara, These chords are from the Erin Go Bragh rebel chords website...good luck. AChairde, does anyone have the chords for this song? Freedom's Sons. Chorus They were the men with the vision the men with the cause The men who defied their oppressors laws The men who traded their chains for guns Born into slavery they were freedoms sons At Easter time 1916 When flowers bloomed and leaves were green There dawned a day when freedoms cry Called on brave men come fight or die Chorus In Dublin town they fought and died With Pearse McDermott and McBride Ourselves alone their battle cry And freedom rang through that Easter sky Chorus A poets dream had sparked that flame A raging fire it soon became And from that fire of destiny Arose a nation proud and free Chorus Six counties are in bondage still They died brave men was this their will Until were free and oppression ceased Only then brave men shall sleep in peace Thanks everyone |

Alright guys, first time poster. Just wondering if any of you have the chords for McIlhatton - will be needed for the guitar on the supporters bus for away games this year. I've heard Big George and Gary Og do it, but I can't find the b*stard chords anywhere. Cheers in advance! Eamonn Eamonn Achara, I found these chords on the internet and they work fine for me. Work out your own strumming pattern to fit the tune if ye can and as always play around with the capo. All the best, Matt Kavanah Intro: C D C D C D C D In Glenravel's Glen there lives a man whom some would call a god C D C G For he could cure your shakes with a bottle of his stuff would cost you thirty bob D C D Come winter, summer, frost all over, a jiggin' Spring on the breeze G C G D In the dead of night a man steps by, "McIlhatton, if you please" CHORUS G F C G McIlhatton you blurt we need you, cry a million shaking men G C G F Where are your sacks of barley, will your likes be seen again? G C G C Heres a jig to the man and a reel to the drop and a swing to the girl he loves G D C D May your fiddle play and poitn cure your company up above Theres a wisp of smoke to the south of the Glen and the poitn is on the air The birds in the burrows and the rabbits in the sky and there's drunkards everywhere At Skerries Rock the fox is out and begod he's chasing the hounds And the only thing in decent shape is buried beneath the ground CHORUS At McIlhatton's house the fairies are out and dancing on the hobs The goat's collapsed and the dog has run away and there's salmon down the bogs He has a million gallons of wash and the peelers are on the Glen But they'll never catch that hackler cos he's not comin' home again CHORUS X 2 |

AChairde, Would someone please add in the chords for this song... All the best, Matt Kavanah Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Russian Roulette Moving Hearts They dropped the bomb in '45 to end the world war, No-one had ever seen such a terrible sight before, The world looked on with eyes wide to see where it might lead, The politics of power, they passed around to see, It was a time to remember, we never can forget, They were playin' Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Russian Roulette. They arose like the saviours of our modern human race, With radiation haloes, that hung about their face, With the key to the sure-cure, the treatment of our ills, A hot-shot of cobalt, and a pocket-full of pills, Speaking always of the enemy, who lurked across the sea, While they crept in among us like a carrier disease. Deep down inside the bunkers of the concrete and the lead, Einstein's disciples working steadily ahead, Making heavy metal power-plants to fire the city lights, All you can hear in the underground is the humming through the night, And the walls of tight security, circle all around, Where they spill out their poison and bury it in the ground. Holed up in the harbours hidden secretly away, War-heads and submarines await to make their play, The military masterminds improve on their design, The soldiers get all doped up and stumble through the lines, While the spills into the rivers get carried out by the tide, They call this security but we're not satisfied. Our statesmen and leaders and politicians pay, Quick to heed the hand that feeds, they're careful what they say, They call out experts to assure us, to wave their magic wands, This is the power of the future, And the future marches on, And they call in their favours, all their political gains, While the spills fill the rivers and settle in the plains. They've caused the death of millions, that's their stock and trade, They will be afflicted by the fallout that they've made, They've sealed their own inevitable doom, it must surely come, Not even the moons of Jupiter will be far enough away to run, When this earth that they've assaulted, begins to turn around, And the unavoidable gravity, sucks them to the ground. I know the minds behind them, they are riddled full of holes, Not to be trusted with their hands at the controls, Their eyesight it is twisted by the glory of their careers, The heaped praise and flattery is music to their ears, To listen to them talk about how it hasn't happened, Yet's like playing Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Russian Roulette. |

Anyone? Chords? AChairde, Could anyone please add in the chords for this song...much appreciated! Ballad Of Bobby Sands (as sung by the Dublin City Ramblers) Come gather round me one and all My song to you I'll sing, In memory of a brave young Irishman, Who would not concede defeat, From his stand would not retreat. I sing of the gallant Bobby Sands, Bobby Sands. Yes I sing of the late great Bobby Sands. He organised the hunger strike To win and change, reform, To stop the evil tyrants in their craze, To regain the five demands He took his young life in his hands For the betterment of comrades in Armagh And in the Maze Armagh and the H-Blocks of the Maze. They tried to break your spirit But no way could they succeed, The phoenix in your heart they tried to quell With their beatings, degradation, All in vain to their frustration, For the more they tried, the more you would rebel You would rebel, With dignity your principle did swell. But freedom was to come to you On a rain soaked Tuesday morn From the heavens tears of patriots were shed With the joy that you are free To walk with Tone and Connolly, Forever live the name of Bobby Sands We shall endear Your name, to foe shall always threaten fear. Thanks everyone. All the best, Matt Kavanah So to all you people My song to you I've sung In memory of a brave young Belfast man Who would not concede defeat, From his stand would not retreat. I sing of the gallant Bobby Sands, Bobby Sands. Yes I sing of the late great Bobby Sands. |

hi can anybody please tell me if the band foggy dew has a web site. thanks verry much kevin Kevin Achara, I could be wrong but I don't think they have a website. Most of the rebel bands that I know of that have websites have links to other bands' sites (Padraig Mor, Shebeen, Gary Og and the Exiles, Mise Eire, Meon Na Saoirse, CATB etc) but I've never seen anything for Foggy Dew. Hi all, I'm new to this forum so apologies if the above topic has been posted before. Please click on this link hopefully you'll find this very informative and at the same time very disturbing and please pass on to as many people as you can. The likes of david rupert should not be allowed! Cheers C www.michael.mckevitt.com [attachmentid=18] Charlie Achara, welcome to the board! I've checked out that website; it's very informative and disturbing - as the truth often is. David Rupert is filth...sadly, his ilk are nothing new. Touts, informers, supergrasses, spies, traitors and bastards all. Michael McKevitt is a political prisoner and whatever your politics may be he deserves the support and recogntion of Irish Republicans. All the best to you, Matt Kavanah |

Fuck maggie thatcher!! i read that book to it is intresting enuf. I think that after the first 4 hunger strikers died sinn fein were determined to keep the rest on strike so they could grow in stature as Gerry Adams was speakin on the outside for them. This si sad i know. I am sorry to see that Mosingour Faul has died as he was a great campaginer for human rights. Tiocfaidh ar la!! 'Our revenge shall be the laughter of our children'-Bobby Sands. Don't recall singing that Armagh, but you never know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I reckon later in the year before the exiles get their album out. Gary Achara, Any thoughts on the track list for The Exiles debut album? All the best to you, Matt Kavanah |
